The GWN Balzano Barrow race is being held for the 19th year this year. Individuals or teams run or walk from Kanowna to Kalgoorlie pushing a barrow to emulate the endeavours of James Balzano in 1897. 2011 RFDS Swim Thru

2011 RFDS Swim ThruGoldfields Oasis

Entries are now open for the 2011 Royal Flying Doctor Service Swim Thru! The RFDS Swim Thru is an annual 10-hour charity swimming challenge held in Kalgoorlie, WA, with the purpose of raising funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. The challenge will take place on October 15, from 10am to 8pm. Competitors last year raised more than $15,000 for the RFDS! Spectators are welcome and the event is packed full of fun and entertainment. This year there is a celebrity guest appearance by Paralympic Swimming Champion, Priya Cooper! A magic show by Pop Magic is also open to the public for a gold coin donation. For team or individual entries, or for more information, visit www.flyingdoctor.org.au/Swimthru, call (08) 9093 7595 or drop into the RFDS Visitors Centre at the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Airport.
